On Monday, 23 May 2011, SHIPO had an exhibition on Teaching and Learning Materials (TLM). The last four months SHIPO staff and contractors from Ihalula, Uwemba, Havanga and Manga worked hard on the production of TLM’s. Puzzles, mathematic and language games, blocks and dolls were made for pre-primary classes and Standard 1. Before using the materials teachers of Standard 1 and pre-primary were trained on psychology of young children and how to use the TLM's in the class.
Mr. Oygen, program manager of SHIPO, opened the exhibition with a speech and explained more about the background of the project. Representatives of education office appreciated the work SHIPO did for the benefit of education of young children.
A lot of positive responses came from visitors. They suggested to marketing the TLM products and sell them to other schools and to make TLM from Standard 1 up to 7.
