Project purpose
Reducing of water and hygiene related diseases by providing the community with clean drinking water. Also reducing walking time for women and children by producing taps in the village.

The community of Shauri Moyo in Ludewa district, 2.896 people (in the future 3475 people).

Description of the project
The village of Shauri Moyo receives water from the gravity water system (currently 2,896 people). Three local plumbers and seven masons were trained by Shipo in building the water gravity system and also how to maintain it in the future. Local technicians in Shauri Moyo have learned how to do plumbing during the project to construct water points.
During the construction phase SHIPO started to form a Water Users Society (WUS). After finishing, this society is taking care of the project.

The project was finished March 2010.
