Description of the project

  1. Monthly Coach meeting with Volunteers
Every month Forty six (46) Community coaches are facilitated with one health and sanitation subject .The training is done at SHIPO by Community development officers (CDO).In this session CDO are presenting fact sheet to coaches followed by a discussion on that particular subject.
If well understood by coaches, CDO distributes fact sheets to the coaches according to the number of Village Action Groups (VAG’s) present in his village. When these factsheest have been submitted to the VAG leaders, they set a date to conduct a meeting with their members. They later disseminate the information that has been produced by community coaches.
  2. House Hold Survey (HHS)
This is done to know the status of the (TAZAMO) project done by the organisation. In implementing this, SHIPO conducted the house hold survey in three different periods: at the beginning, at the middle and at the end of the project.
  3. Good Governance
This activity is done in two different areas: at village level and at ward level. The aim of this training is to empower village and ward leaders on leadership skills. Good governance training helps a lot in the implementation of projects in villages due to the fact that it increases effective relationship between SHIPO and the community.
  4. Monitoring Visit
This is a day to day follow-up or check-up were as CDO’s go to the villages to make follow up on projects. In the village CDO’s meet with village action group leaders (VAG leaders) and a discussion concern the project progress, fact sheet and if there is any problem it can be solved at that time.
