Beneficiaries

The beneficiaries of this project are parents and children living in rural areas of Njombe Region. They are living in villages which are too far from town to go to and from in one day.

Donor

Stichting Ludewa

Description of the project

With the management from the hospital is agreed that the dormitory will be for children who need physiotherapy. This project makes it possible for parent and child to sleep in the dormitory and continue with physiotherapy treatment for a few days.

The management of the hospital agreed on taking care of the renovation of the old existing physiotherapy building and they will employ a qualified physiotherapist for children.

This project is somehow special for SHIPO, because the construction of the building is not in a village and it is not possible to use community members for the construction. SHIPO decided to hire masons trained in other SHIPO projects and pay them a salary.

The dormitory gives room to 10 beds for boys and 10 beds for girls with their parents. In the future Stichting Endelea will try to find funds for building a kitchen so that the parents can cook their own food.
